Billy Childish: YES!! BILLY CHILDISH!!!!
Who are you?
This is something I'm still investigating, but like Christopher Robin I have an extra name just in case I lose one.
What are you wearing?
Moccasins, wool shirt, blue polker-dot neckerchief, corduroy waistcoat, serge trousers (old fire brigade, pair) and an annoying air of superiority.
Are you more childish now than when you were a kid?
The later works of Edvard Munch.
What are the Billy Childish ingredients to a perfect milkshake?
Some sort of hippy version with almond milk and wood shavings.
What kind of car do you drive?
A 1968 Volvo estate.
What is a headcoat?
A deerstalker, apparently (the term was an overheard mistake).
Favorite Hendrix song?
'Fire' or 'Manic Depression' I would imagine.
What do you think of the current garage scene? Bands like Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, etc...? (question by Richard of Quebec surf band Les Babalooneys)
I'm afraid I'm an ignorant fellow and and should be trussed up and whipped by their girlfriends (if they're not too ugly).
Were you a fan of Bo Diddley, Link Wray, etc. before punk hit and you formed the Pop Rivets, or did you discover them later? (Question by Jim of Undergroundmedicine.com)
I knew Bo Diddley stuff, in a limited way, but found out about Link in '79.
What's your favorite band that you have played in? (question by Eric Davidson of New Bomb Turks/author of We Never Learn)
I have three: Thee Mighty Caesars, the MBE's and the Spartan Dreggs (current).
At what point did you stop liking the Clash? (question by Eric Davidson, of 'What's your favorite band that you have played in? question)
I was losing interest after hearing the 45 Complete Control, didn't buy the 2nd LP, and really went off music in 1978.
What is your message for the kids?
Get your bleeding hair cut.
