INTERVIEW WITH TOMMASO & ANGELA OF SHIT MUSIC FOR SHIT PEOPLE

Shit Music for Shit People: A decidedly unshitty Italian/Portuguese independent label.

Who are you wearing?

We have some personal shoppers that buy for us from “Balon” in Turin. These are “Feira Da Ladra” in Lisbon and “Oz” before it closed in Cagliari, Sardinia.

We wear what they want us to wear with no complaints. We pay them for the same reason, don't we?

Favorite song about food?

“Carcará” by Zelia Barbosa

First band you ever signed?

Capputtini ‘I Lignu. A very cool Srench-Sicilian duo that kick ass!

Band you wish you never signed?

Two Bit Dezperados, whose singer and first guitarist are two real assholes if you ask me.

What band would you sell your soul to sign?

None, cause we already sold a big shitload since we founded our label.

First thing you tell bands when you sign them?

Well, usually, "We’re gonna get you a lot of money!”, but in truth we think, “Ha ha ha...we’re gonna exploit them and suck all the money they made!”

And: “We're a pain in the ass with the artwork.”

Weirdest thing you ever had to do to sign a band?

We’ll keep the rest of the shit for the butler, the gardener, the cook and ourselves…

What would you be doing if you didn't have a label?

Actually we do other stuff: Ângela is a safarista and I’m a carcara hunter in the Sertao.

Best way to save money on recording?

Not recording at all.

78 RPM or 8-tracks ?

Both of them.
