Mondo Fuzz: Teensploitation Trashterpiece of Subterranean Sinema...or, a cool documentary about the Austin scene

MONDO FUZZ: Twilight of the Idles is a Teensploitation Trashterpiece of Subterranean Sinema that excavates current Austin, Texas underground rock.

Working from the philosophy that a band's essence is best captured during live performance, and inspired by such music doc classics as The Decline of Western Civilization and Urgh! A Music War, the feature-length work is structured like a concert film mixtape shot guerrilla style in the shadows of the Live Music Capitol of the World. By turning an anthropological eye on this insular subculture, the film becomes a nature documentary on guitar-thrashing teens in their natural habitat, serves as a study of the complex codes, re-purposed cult symbology, and exotic plumage of the new American mating rituals, and snaps a 2013 time capsule of a uniquely musical town before its inevitable decline into generic metropolis.
The film features select interviews and live performances by Austin garage rockers THE STRANGE BOYS, JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN, DIKES OF HOLLAND, SHAPES HAVE FANGS, THE BAD LOVERS, WOVEN BONES, NIGHT BEATS, THE GORY DETAILS, PLANET RYE CO, THE WELL, GHOST WOLVES, TIJUANA BIBLE, SEXPLOITS, TEEN-AGE CAVEGIRL and more.
